Forest-lawn Community Overview

Forest Lawn was a town in Alberta, Canada. Today, it is mostly a lower to middle-class neighbourhood of Calgary.

The area was first settled in the early 1900s. In 1952, the districts of Hubalta, Albert Park and Forest Lawn were incorporated as the Town of Forest Lawn. In 1961 the town was dissolved and incorporated in the city of Calgary, and now it is a neighborhood in the city's south-east quadrant. The community has an area redevelopment plan in place.

The multicultural International Avenue defines the southern border of the community, and it is bounded to the north by Memorial Drive. The community of Radisson Heights lies to the west, while Penbrooke Meadows lie to the east.

The community is served by Forest Lawn Senior High, Patrick Airlie Elementary and Keeler Elementary public schools, as well as Holy Trinity Elementary, Holy Redeemer and Fathert Lacombe schools (catholic).
